Project is a collective of performing artists and
educators who focus their art and creative voices
toward equity, diversity awareness, stewardship and
sustainability, and community development.
New Wilderness Project works in partnership with schools and organizations across the country. Through multimedia performance art and experiential learning, our work builds awareness of diversity, guides cultural competence, encourages courageous leadership, inspires stewardship for nature, and provides a framework for participants to take creative action.
The New Wilderness is a metaphor that is central to our approach. It represents the landscape of differences that exist between people and communities. A journey into the New Wilderness is one where we discover more about ourselves and others. It’s a place that no one person or group owns, where we come together to learn and communicate. The New Wilderness is a landscape of our vision; it’s the change we choose to create.
